Protecting My Passion
Hey, My name is Marley, thanks for being here & your interest in my artwork. I began learning pottery as a young child, and have grown to love the art more ever since. I've made hundreds (if not thousands) of pieces over the course of my experience with clay and I find the most joy when I loosely plan my pieces, mainly just to sit down at the wheel and let the clay become whatever it wants to become. I have a huge interest in exploring and experimenting with my collections in both decor and functional wares for the home.
In 2025 I've decided to make it a priority as I begin selling my work again, to protect my passion for the art form. It's important to me to keep creating pottery for years to come, and while I aim to build a large portfolio of work for others to welcome into their homes I want to prioritize the joy that creating pottery brings me. That being said, most of my work will be minimally repeated more of a one of a kind style. I've always felt like it's slightly less enjoyable if I am making the same thing over and over again. Don't get me wrong however, in limited quantities I still do love to create custom dinnerware sets. It's only when the repetition becomes just too much that I start to resent the many steps in the process that come after the initial wheel throwing & trimming.
I've seen a lot of ceramic artists do this type of repetition and for years I thought I had to do the same. I realized that's not the case and I can run my creative business in the way that suits me and my mental health. Especially now as a mom, having pottery in my life again has become an outlet for me to express myself and relax. So I'm finding myself somewhere in between a one of a kind artist and a production potter. There will certainly be forms that I will want to repeat and perfect over time, but not all of my work will be this way.
Any items listed as preorder will be things I've made once before, and If you'd like a repeat of that piece I'll gladly make it for you. Preorders may take 2-4 weeks + shipping time & I will be in touch along the way for any questions.
